Chapter 33: Rampant
She really won't give up on her sneaky schemes
─── ⋆⋅☼⋅⋆ ───
The little guy was getting naughtier by the day, and Qin Feng didn’t want to indulge him. “Brother doesn’t want to talk to you.”
The child widened his eyes and said in a soft, babyish voice, “You’re lying! Brother fell asleep.”
“You know that and you still ask?” Qin Feng glared at him. “What did I say before we came here? How long has it been, and you’ve already forgotten?”
The child’s eyes darted around, and he smiled sweetly. “I miss Daddy.”
Qin Feng was at a loss for words.
The doctor burst out laughing.
Madam Zhou sighed. "You are worse than before — ask you three questions, and you can’t even say a word.”
The child turned his head to look at her.
— What is Grandma talking about?
Madam Zhou realized he was only four years old and wouldn’t understand, so she simply reached out her hand. “Do you want Grandma to hold you?”
“I want Daddy to hold me.” The child shook his head and refused.
Qin Feng pointed at the IV drip. “Brother is sick and getting an infusion. You want Daddy to leave Brother and hold you instead?”
“Daddy can put Brother on the bed.” The child pointed at the bed next to him.
Qin Feng said, “If Brother moves while he’s sleeping, it’ll press on the needle. What if the fluid can’t go in?”
The little one had no comeback for that.
He lay across his father’s lap and sighed deeply.
Madam Zhou wanted to leave — she couldn’t bear to watch.
When did this child become such a little troublemaker?
The doctor chuckled. “What’s got you looking so worried?”
The child turned his head and gave the doctor a brief, indifferent glance before looking away.
It was as if he was saying, You just don’t get it.
The doctor couldn’t stop laughing. He said to Qin Feng, “Who would’ve thought — the funniest one in your family is actually this little bald kid.”
The little bald kid touched his head, but his hand landed on a hat — the one Xue Qing had made for him. He pulled the hat off, and as the cold wind hit his buzzcut, he couldn’t help but shiver.
“I’m not a little bald kid!” the child shouted.
Qin Feng glared at him. “Lower your voice!”
The child stuck out his short index finger, pressed it against his lips, and made a “shh” sound before silently mouthing a retort at the doctor.
The doctor understood how uncomfortable being sick could be. Seeing Gu Xiao’er lying motionless, he thought the boy had fallen asleep and didn’t want to wake him. So, he nodded in acknowledgment. “My mistake. I forgot — Miaomiao has hair now.”
The child was satisfied and threw the hat onto the bed.
Qin Feng raised an eyebrow.
The clever little rascal quickly hid behind his grandmother.
Madam Zhou picked him up and sat on the bed with him. “Do you want to sit on the bed and play for a while?”
The child shook his head and shifted his focus to the brother in his father’s arms.
Gu Xiao’er wasn’t actually asleep. In fact, he had been awakened by the child’s chattering. Feeling someone’s gaze on him, he deduced through elimination that it could only be little Miaomiao. Instantly, he burrowed deeper into Qin Feng’s arms, worried that his father might put him down and hold the other child instead.
Qin Feng was wearing thick clothes, so he didn’t notice Gu Xiao’er’s tears soaking his coat. Mistaking the boy’s clinginess for unease in his sleep, Qin Feng gently patted his back and reassured him. “Once this IV bottle is done, you’ll be all better.”
Afraid that his father might catch on to his thoughts, Gu Xiao’er froze and dared not move a muscle.
Qin Feng turned toward the little guy, who was watching like a hawk. “Do you want to take your brother’s place and get the shot instead?”
“No!” The child shrieked and scrambled into his grandmother’s arms.
Qin Feng smirked. “Do you want Daddy to hold you?”
The child, assuming that being held by Daddy meant getting an IV drip, immediately shook his head. “No!”
“Do you want to go home?”
Again, the child shook his head. He stayed nestled in his grandmother’s arms for a while but soon got bored. After a moment, he slipped down to the floor, glanced at the doctor, and then locked his eyes on the medicine cabinet.
The doctor, worried that the child might start causing trouble, no longer dared to chat with Qin Feng. Instead, he kept a close eye on the little troublemaker’s every move.
The little boy had become more talkative and bolder than before, though he was far from being a troublemaker.
He walked around shaking his little hand in the air, looking around, then strutted outside.
Madam Zhou instinctively followed him.
Qin Feng said, “He can’t get out. Leave him alone.”
“But we still need to keep an eye on him. What if he touches something he shouldn’t?” Madam Zhou replied as she went after the boy.
The child wasn’t causing trouble, nor did he want to be held, so Madam Zhou let him be. When she saw him picking up clumps of dirt, she didn’t interfere — as long as he didn’t put it in his mouth.
Once the little one wandered off, Gu Xiao’er no longer worried about being abandoned. He relaxed, and the medication began to take effect. Before long, he fell asleep without realizing it.
Even when the doctor removed the IV needle, Gu Xiao’er didn’t wake up.
Qin Feng carried him home. He originally planned to take him upstairs to bed, but thinking that the boy wouldn’t stay in the bedroom all day, he had his mother bring down a blanket. He spread half of it on the sofa and covered Gu Xiao’er with the other half.
Gu Xiao’er had taken cold medicine that made him drowsy. Combined with the IV drip and his weakened state from being sick, he slept deeply and was still asleep when Gu Wuyi came home from school.
Hearing that his brother had been asleep for nearly three hours, Gu Wuyi couldn’t help but check his breathing.
Qin Feng, who was working on the sofa across from him, chuckled when he saw this. “Still worried he won’t wake up?”
Gu Wuyi asked, “If he sleeps this much now, will he be able to sleep tonight?”
“He will. The medicine makes him drowsy.” Qin Feng remembered something. “You’ve taken care of his leave from school, right?”
“Grandpa did. He went home to feed the cattle.” Gu Wuyi added, “When I came, I ran into Grandma. She said we’ll have lunch here. She went back to get some steamed buns.”
Qin Feng nodded. “She mentioned it. Where’s Miaomiao?”
“I’m right here!”
Qin Feng followed the voice and saw a little head peeking out from behind the doorframe, holding something in his hand. “What are you holding?”
“Flowers!” The boy proudly showed them off. “Are they pretty?”
Qin Feng glanced at the flowers — chrysanthemums from the corner of the yard. “Very pretty. Go play by yourself.”
The little one rarely played by himself. He either visited Madam Zhou or played with the other kids in the village. Today, because Gu Xiao’er was sick, Madam Zhou was too worried to go anywhere, so the boy could only stay home.
Hearing this, the child couldn’t hold back anymore. “I don’t want to play alone.”
Gu Wuyi saw his brother move and quickly dropped his school bag to grab the little rascal. “Come on, I’ll take you to play.”
“Are we going to buy candy?”
Gu Wuyi answered firmly, “No candy!”
The child shook off his hand and ran outside.
Gu Wuyi hurried to chase him. “Wait up!”
The child stopped, looked back, saw his big brother was far behind, and happily waved his hand. “You can’t catch me!” Without waiting for Gu Wuyi to respond, he continued running eastward.
Seeing that the boy was heading outside, Gu Wuyi realized it was the time when workers were getting off work, and the road was full of bicycles. He quickly caught up with the child, picked him up, and said, “Let’s go swing with Big Brother.”
Qin Feng was worried that the child would secretly climb up and cause trouble, so the swing chairs were placed high. Gu Wuyi was just the right size to sit on them.
With Gu Wuyi not being home, neither Qin Feng nor Madam Zhou had the energy to entertain Miaomiao. The little boy hadn’t sat for a while and was missing it, so he reached out his hand.
“You’re so lazy,” Gu Wuyi complained as he carried him over to the swing, already out of breath. “Next time, you walk yourself.”
The child turned around and stood up.
Gu Wuyi quickly sat down, then held him close.
The child wrapped his arms around his neck and leaned against him, calling out, “Brother!”
“What’s up?”
“Big brother!”
Gu Wuyi turned to face him, “Speak up if you need something!”
The child turned around and sat on his lap.
Gu Wuyi quickly wrapped one arm around him and grabbed the swing with the other to prevent both of them from falling off. “Don’t move around. I’m starting the swing.”
“Okay.” The child nodded, but his feet were restless, swinging along with the chair.
The elderly couple walked over with steamed buns and dishes from home. When they entered and saw the two brothers sitting on the swing, looking so relaxed, Madam Zhou couldn’t help but tell Qin Feng, “You’ve really set up this swing well.”
Qin Feng replied, “You didn’t say that when it was being installed.”
Madam Zhou couldn’t help but say, “Well, who knew?”
“I knew, but you didn’t believe me.”
Madam Zhou was speechless, so she went straight to the kitchen to cook.
Old Qin couldn’t help but give his son a pointed look and whispered, “Can’t you just let your mom have her way?”
“She’ll just think she’s right,” Qin Feng reminded his father. “If this goes on, she’ll be like Qin Ying, thinking she’s the smartest person around. I may have just studied a bit longer and gained more knowledge, but in terms of handling people and daily life, I’m not as good as they are.”
Old Qin had no response because sometimes he thought the same way.
He didn’t expect his son was paying attention.
“Has the second kid gotten better?” Old Qin asked, patting the child’s head. “Is he still hot?”
Qin Feng nodded. “The fever’s down, but his cold will take a few more days to clear up. You can hear him wheezing, and his nose is still bothering him.”
“You be careful these days. If you’re busy, let us know in advance, and we’ll have your mom come over while I stay home to watch the house.”
Qin Feng replied, “No rush. Go help mom with the cooking.”
Old Qin pointed outside. “Don’t let them play outside. It’s windy, don’t let them catch another cold.”
Upon hearing this, Qin Feng called the two children inside, gave them two packets of Isatis root as a precaution, so they wouldn’t catch the illness from Gu Xiao’er.
The Isatis root was sweet, and the little one drank it all, then shoved the cup into Qin Feng’s hand, saying, “More!”
“This is medicine,” Qin Feng helplessly reminded him.
The child nodded and said, “I love medicine!”
Qin Feng sighed, “Medicine is like candy, you can’t have too much.”
“Can I have candy?”
Qin Feng immediately regretted his words, thinking, Why did I bring that up?
"Is there more?" Qin Feng asked Gu Wuyi.
Gu Wuyi acted very understanding, as he had already put away the two boxes of White Rabbit candies that Wang Genbao had given earlier. Qin Feng hadn’t asked how many he had eaten, just testing if he really understood things.
Gu Wuyi, not knowing his dad was being so thoughtful, answered honestly, "Yes, there’s more. How many do you want?"
Miaomiao immediately said, "Of course, a handful!"
Gu Wuyi couldn’t help but say, "Nice try. One is already good enough."
"One is not enough!" the child said loudly.
As soon as the words were out, Gu Xiao’er woke up from the noise.
Qin Feng glared at the little rascal.
The little one, frightened, grabbed Gu Wuyi’s hand and pulled him upstairs.
Gu Wuyi chuckled, "Look, you're afraid now." When he reached the top of the stairs, he remembered his second brother and turned to ask, "Does Xiao’er want some?"
Qin Feng waved his hand, "His throat's uncomfortable. If he eats, it'll just make it worse." As he said this, he remembered the change in Gu Xiao’er’s voice and guessed his tonsils were inflamed.
At mealtime, Gu Xiao’er’s appetite was about the same as Miaomiao’s, and Qin Feng was more sure of this.
After eating, Qin Feng asked his mom to keep an eye on Gu Xiao’er and the little rascal while he went to the market to buy a bag of pears.
Qin Feng hoped Gu Xiao’er would sleep soon. At home, he peeled the pears and removed the cores, then placed them in a double boiler to simmer.
Once the candied pear was ready, Qin Feng had his mom cook noodles in hot water.
The noodles cooked quickly, and by the time they were served, the pears were still a bit hot. Qin Feng let Gu Xiao’er choose whether to eat noodles or the pear.
For the first time ever, Gu Xiao’er ate "sick person’s food" without hesitation and chose the candied pear.
Miaomiao stared at his second brother, then tentatively asked, "Is it good?"
Gu Xiao’er felt embarrassed being stared at and asked Qin Feng, "Can he eat some?"
"That’s for you," Qin Feng said to the child, "Eat your own food."
The child, with confidence, asked, "Can’t I eat it?"
"Finish your meal first, and I’ll tell you afterward."
The little one seriously suspected his dad was lying to him. But that was okay, he had a plan. The child waved his hand at Gu Xiao’er, leaned in close to his ear, and whispered, "Brother, eat slowly."
Gu Xiao’er couldn’t help but laugh, "Okay!"
The little one ate very quickly, finishing half a bowl of noodles and an egg in no time.
He pushed the empty bowl toward his dad, eyes wide open, staring at him.
— Now, speak!
Qin Feng replied, "Wait."
The noodles were cooked by Madam Zhoui in a small frying pan, and she didn’t touch the double boiler. Qin Feng lifted the lid of the double boiler, and a wave of steam rushed out, carrying a hint of sweetness.
Inside the pot was not just anything, but also a large bowl with pears cut into eighths.
Qin Feng carefully wrapped the bowl in cloth and placed it between the little one and Gu Wuyi.
The child opened his mouth wide in surprise.
Gu Wuyi couldn’t believe it, "We have some too?"
Qin Feng nodded and turned to his parents, "I was going to make two bowls for you, but the pears right now aren’t very good. We’ll wait until they’re in season and make more then."
Old Qin laughed, "We’re not sick."
Qin Feng replied, "Autumn pears are good for the lungs. Besides, pears are local here, and when they’re in bulk, they’ll be cheaper."
Hearing this, Old Qin realized his son was determined to make it, so he didn’t argue any further, "Miaomiao, hurry up and eat."
"This much is going to make my tummy burst!" The child hesitated, thinking he shouldn’t have eaten the noodles and egg earlier.
Qin Feng sneered, "That’s for you and your big brother."
The child exclaimed in delight, "Brother, hurry up and eat!"
Gu Wuyi gave him an eye-roll and, using a spoon, cut the pear into small pieces, then brought a spoonful to the child’s mouth, "Blow on it before you eat."
The child blew on it a few times and couldn’t wait to bite into it.
Then he frowned slightly. It was different from what he had imagined.
Qin Feng sat opposite him and, seeing the situation, asked Gu Wuyi to give him the spoon so he could drink the soup.
The sweet pear soup entered the child’s mouth, and he was pleased. He kindly saved the pear pieces for Gu Wuyi. When he saw Gu Wuyi eat a piece, he eagerly asked, "Brother, Miaomiao is good to you, right?"
Qin Feng replied, "Don’t make me hit you!"
The child didn’t dare to be cheeky anymore.
He quieted down, and the talkative Gu Xiao’er, too weak to speak, fell silent. The dining room became quiet.
After the meal, the elderly couple hurried to go back because, at home, not only did they have three sheep, two pigs, but also a cow, and many chickens and ducks. They feared the village ruffians might sneak in.
Gu Wuyi volunteered to wash the dishes and scrub the pot.
Qin Feng thought about it, and since Gu Wuyi would be turning eleven in the new year, twelve by his age, he was old enough to handle the task. So, Qin Feng gave it to him and went to get water to wash the children’s faces and feet.
After washing up, Gu Xiao’er didn’t go upstairs, even after taking his medicine. He kept his eyes on Qin Feng.
Qin Feng felt uneasy under his gaze and couldn’t help but ask, "Where do you feel uncomfortable?"
"Can I sleep with Dad tonight?" Gu Xiao’er asked anxiously.
Qin Feng chuckled, "I thought something was wrong with you. You can."
Gu Xiao’er was still worried, "What about Miaomiao?"
"Can’t I sleep with Daddy?"
Gu Xiao’er looked at Qin Feng.
Qin Feng replied, "The bed is too narrow for three people to sleep."
"Then who do I sleep with?" The child was confused.
Qin Feng really wanted to say, Sleep by yourself!
Just then, Gu Wuyi came in with the bowls and chopsticks, and Qin Feng said, "Sleep with your big brother."
Gu Wuyi often took him out to play. If you exclude the time spent sleeping, and the time Madam Zhou spent taking care of him all day, the child spent the most time with Gu Wuyi.
The little one also liked him and happily bounced around, "I want to sleep with big brother!"
Qin Feng couldn’t help but miss the "little mute" from three months ago.
He didn’t know when the child became so talkative and even dared to express himself so directly.
Qin Feng seriously suspected that it started during the Dragon Boat Festival.
But none of that mattered now. It was a relief that the child was more cheerful, as it eased his worries about potential autism.
Qin Feng extended both hands, "Shall we go upstairs then?"
Gu Xiao’er extended his hand.
The little one patted Qin Feng's hand and said, "I want to sleep with big brother." Then he went to the kitchen to find his big brother.
As Qin Feng pulled Gu Xiao’er towards the stairs, they heard the child repeatedly calling "Big brother, big brother" as if chanting a prayer. It was lucky that Gu Wuyi had a good temper; if it were Qin Feng, one slap and he wouldn’t be calling "big brother" anymore.
Qin Feng still had some blueprints to review, so he asked Gu Xiao’er to sleep first.
He heard Gu Wuyi leading the little one upstairs and went to wait by their bedroom door.
Gu Wuyi was startled, "Is something wrong, Dad?"
Qin Feng motioned toward the little one, "Watch him sleep."
The child looked confused.
Without saying anything more, Qin Feng took off his shoes, jacket, and pants, then tucked him into the blankets, "Close your eyes and sleep. Don’t think about playing with your brother. He needs to do his homework."
The child had planned to play hide-and-seek with his brother, but hearing this, he was so upset that he pushed Qin Feng away, "You and us aren’t on the same team."
Qin Feng raised his hand.
The little one quickly burrowed into the blankets.
After three minutes with no movement, Qin Feng lifted the blanket, and the child was already fast asleep.
Gu Wuyi was surprised, "Why is he so tired?"
Qin Feng said, "He didn’t sleep at noon. His shoes were already soaked with sweat by midday." He took a thin blanket from the wardrobe and placed it on the other side of the little one. Then he found two chairs to block the side of the bed. "If he feels cold, he'll know to find his blanket. You don’t need to worry about him."
Gu Wuyi opened his mouth, as if wanting to say something, but stopped himself.
Qin Feng was puzzled, "You don’t want to sleep with me, do you?"
Gu Wuyi shook his head, not daring to hesitate, and said, "Dad, you... you’re really great!"
Qin Feng smiled, "I can only spend time with Grandpa and Grandma every day. Am I really that good?"
"That’s because Dad needs to earn money. Where can you find a dad who has both money and time to spend with his child? Not even in novels."
Qin Feng patted his little head, "Do your homework. Finish early and go to sleep. Don’t overthink things."
Gu Wuyi grabbed his hand.
Qin Feng was confused.
Gu Wuyi hesitantly asked, "Can I change my last name?"
Qin Feng froze for a moment, unsure how to respond.
Gu Wuyi’s expression changed slightly, and he worriedly asked, "Isn’t that possible?"
Qin Feng blinked, uncertain, "Change to my last name?"
Gu Wuyi nodded.
Qin Feng felt a wave of relief, thinking, finally, it's worth it. "Wuyi, your 'Gu' last name isn’t just from your dad, it’s also from your grandpa. Don’t bring this up again. If your aunt finds out, she’ll think I encouraged it."
Gu Wuyi thought about his aunt and immediately felt disgusted, "What does it have to do with her?"
Qin Feng thought for a moment, "If you really want to change it, we’ll talk about it when you're eighteen. By then, your aunt won’t have a reason to make a fuss, and she won’t dare either. Because by that time, you can make your own decisions."
Gu Wuyi did the math, "That’s still eight years?"
"Eight years go by fast. Just think about how things that happened earlier this year feel like they were just yesterday."
Gu Wuyi thought for a moment, wanting to say that it felt like it happened in his past life.
But he didn’t dare!
"You're right, Dad. Dad, go ahead and get busy."
Qin Feng was worried he might overthink things, so he said, "The leisurely days are limited. Take advantage of these few days and have some fun."
Gu Wuyi didn’t understand.
Qin Feng smiled and said, "In a few days, you'll know what I mean."
The next day, Madam Zhou came over to watch the two kids and brought out several bags of corn to dry.
After the corn was dried, Gu Xiao'er’s illness was also better.
After dinner, the livestock were brought inside, and the old couple came over, pouring the corn into a sieve, and asked the children to help knead the corn with them.
Gu Wuyi finally understood what his dad meant by "The leisurely days are limited."
Gu Xiao'er, breaking the corn kernels, couldn’t help but ask, "Grandma, can’t we use a machine to press it?"
"Stone roller? If the stone roller crushes the corn, how will we grind it into cornmeal?"
Gu Xiao'er asked, "Isn’t there a machine like the one for wheat?"
Madam Zhou chuckled, "What are you imagining? There’s no such machine."
Qin Feng wanted to say, "There is such a machine, but it will take several decades before it becomes common in rural areas."
"Second son, knead for a while, and then go upstairs to sleep. This isn't urgent; we have the whole winter to finish it."
Gu Xiao'er’s eyes widened in shock, "The whole winter?"
Qin Feng nodded slightly.
Gu Xiao'er sat down on the ground, "I won't live any longer!"
Qin Feng chuckled lightly, "Knead properly. In a few days, when it gets cold, I’ll buy you snow boots."
The old couple looked at Qin Feng simultaneously.
Qin Feng pretended not to see.
The next noon, after the two brothers finished school, Madam Zhou called them to the kitchen and quietly asked, "Has Qin Feng made more money again?"
On one side was his father, and on the other were his father’s parents. Gu Wuyi didn’t want to offend either of them, so he casually replied, "I don’t know."
"What about in your pants?"
Gu Wuyi shook his head. "Ever since that time he lost more than ten yuan, my dad rarely brings money to work. Even if he needs it sometimes, he only takes it before work and it’s gone by the time he comes home."
"I see." Madam Zhou sighed. "You should have left some for him back then. He spends money carelessly and doesn't notice if a few yuan are missing."
Gu Wuyi thought to himself, if that were the case, I’d have to help you ‘steal’ money every day. He feigned surprise and asked, "Why didn’t you say something earlier, Grandma?"
Madam Zhou was annoyed. "I forgot. During the New Year, I’ll ask your dad for some lucky money—ten yuan each. I’ll save it for you."
Gu Wuyi found it amusing. She really couldn’t let go of her "thieving" ways.
"I won’t spend your money," Madam Zhou misunderstood, quickly reassuring him.
Gu Wuyi replied, "My dad will definitely have us save it ourselves. By the way, he had the village carpenter make a little money box for us when he was building the swing. It’s a small wooden box with a slit on top where we can put in money, and a little lock on the side. There's even a picture of the God of Wealth my dad drew on it. It’s really nice."
Madam Zhou couldn’t help but say, "The money inside is probably worth less than the lock and the box, right?"
"Little by little, it adds up."
Madam Zhou was taken aback, "Well, I know saving money is much better than before. You can keep it yourself." Thinking of the lucky money, she couldn’t help but think of her two granddaughters.
When Qin Feng came back for dinner, Madam Zhou asked him if he would still give her lucky money this year.
Qin Feng didn’t want to make it difficult for the kids, so he told his mom to do the same as usual.
If his sister gave lucky money to his three children, he would give it to his two nieces and the two Fu brothers.
However, he never expected that winter was quietly approaching, the snowflakes were dancing in the air, and the New Year was nearly here. His sister arrived.
In the past, she would bring things from home, like the slaughtered New Year pig.
This year, without waiting for Old Qin to sharpen his knife, Qin Ying brought a pig leg and ten pounds of pork ribs, and she even delivered them on her bicycle.
Wang Genbao was carrying two chickens and some miscellaneous New Year goods.
Once again, they arrived on a Sunday.
Families who slaughtered their own pigs would never leave a big pig leg for the New Year, let alone buy one.
Wang Genbao and Qin Ying attracted the attention of the villagers as soon as they entered the village. Even without Wang Genbao saying anything, everyone knew he had struck it rich.
People who were usually neither close nor distant with him all gathered around to try and get on his good side.
Wang Genbao had become the center of attention, and Qin Feng, the PhD graduate, was pushed to the side.
Among the crowd, Wang Genbao glanced at Qin Feng, and seeing him standing alone by the wall, it seemed like he had let out a big breath of dissatisfaction, feeling quite pleased with himself.
Gu Wuyi squeezed up to his dad’s side, watching Wang Genbao’s smug expression, regretting telling Qin Ying where to source the goods. "What a piece of work."
Qin Feng covered his mouth and whispered, "He doesn’t dare to fight with me, but that doesn’t mean he won’t hit you."
Gu Wuyi nodded, signaling he wouldn’t say anything bad. "Dad, if he keeps going smoothly, gets richer and richer, he wouldn’t divorce Aunt, right?"
Qin Feng shook his head. "He’s in competition with me. If he divorces, it means I was right. Unless the temptation is too great."
"Would he have a mistress?"
Qin Feng glanced at Wang Genbao. "Not for now, he needs to make money. I mentioned the money for going to university on purpose. Once he earns that money and can afford to eat meat every day, he might start having other thoughts."
"How long will that take?"
Qin Feng smiled and replied, "With the speed he’s making money, it’ll take at least a year."
"Xiao Feng, what are you saying to Xiaoda?" Wang Genbao shouted loudly, "What’s so secret that we can’t hear it?"
Qin Feng smiled, letting go of Gu Wuyi, and whispered, "I think he’s itching for a fight. Wait till I deal with him." Then he shouted, "What do you want to hear?"
